Overview: Lakeview Golf Club is an 18-hole public executive course in Delray Beach. The layout measures 3,006 yards at par 60 and uses lakes, open fairways and water hazards to create a varied short-course test. The City of Delray Beach and the club describe it as a compact municipal golf facility, while course records credit Bill Dietsch as architect.
History: The course opened in fall 1972. The City of Delray Beach purchased it on July 15, 1996, after which the name changed from Lakeview Golf Course to Lakeview Golf Club. The clubhouse was rebuilt in 1999, and the club's own history records a 2004 recognition among the Top 50 Short Courses in America.
Did You Know? The lake at the centre of the property is named Lake Helen, after the wife of one of the people behind the course's development. That name gives the municipal layout a small but distinctive piece of local history.
