Overview: Located in Sastamala, Finland, the Pirunpelto Course at Lakeside Golf Vammala is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Swedish architect Peter Fjällman. Winding through mature forests of pine, birch, and oak trees, the layout features significant elevation changes, rolling fairways, and beautifully contoured green complexes. The course demands strategic positioning off the tee, requiring players to choose correct angles to reach the well-defended greens.
History: Opened in 2005 as the second championship course at the club, Pirunpelto was built to complement the older Hugo Course. Fjällman sculpted the undulating forest terrain to create a strategic championship layout that respects the pre-existing glacial topography.
Did You Know? The course name "Pirunpelto" translates to "Devil's Field." This name is a traditional Finnish term for the massive, glacial boulder fields that border several holes, providing a dramatic geological backdrop to the fairways.
