Overview: Lake Presidential is a public course in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, built through wooded ground, streams and the 30-acre lake that gives the club its name. Chris Cole and Jeff Potts created a parkland routing with generous tee options, white-sand bunkers and approach angles that become more demanding near the water. The course balances open landing areas with narrow corridors and sloping greens.
History: Lake Presidential opened in May 2008 as part of a new golf development in Prince George's County. The course quickly entered Maryland tournament rotation, including state open qualifying and state amateur events, giving the relatively young layout a competitive record.
Did You Know? The 570-yard eighth is designed around a line through the trees before the approach turns toward the lake. The ninth and 18th also use the water as a strategic feature, so the lake appears repeatedly in the scorecard rather than only in the view.
