Overview: The South Course at Lake of Isles is a Rees Jones and Steve Weisser design routed through wooded terrain around a roughly 90-acre lake in North Stonington. The setting gives the private 18-hole layout a strong water-and-forest identity without turning it into a resort-style resort course.
History: The South Course opened in April 2005 as part of the 36-hole Lake of Isles club, which opened that spring on a 900-acre property owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
Did You Know? The lake is not just scenery: the South Course is organized around its shoreline and uses the surrounding wetlands, woods and water to frame the strategy.
