Overview: The South Course at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole Kurt A. Sandness and Tom Lehman design in Dade City. The gold tees measure 7,153 yards at par 72, with substantial elevation changes, tree-lined corridors, ponds and bunkers shaping the round. Its hilly ground gives the course a different character from the flatter layouts common elsewhere in central Florida.
History: The South Course is recorded as opening in 1999 and forms one half of Lake Jovita's 36-hole golf facility. Sandness and Lehman designed the routing around the property's unusually rolling terrain, while the club later added the North Course in 2002. Current course records differ by only a few yards on the longest tee, so the detailed 7,153-yard figure is used here.
Did You Know? The South Course's par-5 11th falls roughly 30 yards from tee to green. That change in elevation creates a view down toward the putting surface and a second-shot decision that is unusual for a Florida course.
