Overview: Laguna Bintan Golf Course is an 18-hole resort layout at Laguna Bintan in Lagoi, with a par of 72 and about 60 hectares of tropical terrain. The official course layout describes a routing that moves between beachfront coconut groves, natural wetlands, lagoons, forest and rock formations. Sea views appear early, water features shape the middle holes and the later stretch becomes more enclosed before returning toward the coast. The operator credits Greg Norman with the original design.
History: Laguna Bintan forms part of the wider Laguna resort development operated within the Banyan Tree hospitality group. The current official pages confirm the same Teluk Berembang resort location, 18-hole course and Greg Norman design, but reviewed secondary sources give different opening dates ranging from 1996 to 1998. Because the resort's present course identity is clear but the original date is not, year_opened remains null rather than presenting one disputed year as settled.
Did You Know? The course layout changes its setting several times in one round. Holes 2 through 4 open toward the sea, holes 6 through 8 wrap around lagoons, and holes 10 through 15 pass through denser jungle and unusual rock formations. The signature 17th then asks for a direct play over natural rock from a tee perched above the sea, making the coastal geology part of the hole itself.
