Overview: Located in Appiano Gentile, within the Pineta di Appiano Gentile e Tradate park, La Pinetina Golf Club offers an undulating parkland routing. The course winds through a thick pine, birch, and chestnut forest, presenting tight tree-lined corridors and natural elevation changes. Small, sloped greens defended by strategic sand traps demand precise placement on approach shots and a sharp short game.
History: Designed by British architect John Harris, the course opened in 1971 in collaboration with Gianni Albertini and Davide Mezzacane. Harris utilized the undulating forested terrain to create a strategic layout that follows the land's natural contours. The club has maintained its parkland character, serving as a peaceful retreat and a competitive test for local and regional tournaments.
Did You Know? The course features a specialized system of irrigation that draws from natural local reservoirs, helping to maintain the high quality of the turf throughout the hot summer months.
