Overview: La Manga Club's South Course is an 18-hole resort course in Murcia, with wide fairways, 15 water obstacles, palms, lakes, and ravines. The white tees measure 6,499 metres and the course is par 73; the front nine rewards precise long-iron play while the back nine uses doglegs and water.
History: Robert Dean Putman designed the South Course in 1971 as part of La Manga Club's original golf development. Arnold Palmer later remodelled it, with the major renovation record associated with 2005. The resort has hosted Spanish Opens and international team events.
Did You Know? Water affects 15 of the South Course's 18 holes. Not every shot is a forced carry, but the broad fairways are balanced by a constant need to choose the correct side of the hole.
