Overview: Located on the island of Læsø in the Kattegat sea between Denmark and Sweden, Læsø Seaside Golfklub is an 18-hole coastal links and woodland course. The layout transitions from open, wind-swept seaside holes framed by heather and gorse to tighter, tree-lined corridors winding through native pine forests. The course demands strategic versatility, requiring low, penetrating shots on the exposed coastal holes and precise accuracy on the woodland stretch.
History: Opened in two stages between 1995 and 1999, the course was built to establish a premier coastal golf destination on Denmark's sunniest island. Local architects Lars Andreasson and Henrik Jacobsen carefully routed the holes to showcase the diverse island topography, minimizing earth movement to preserve the delicate coastal ecosystem.
Did You Know? The course features a highly unusual par of 74, which is extremely rare for a championship links. The layout includes six par-5s, offering players a variety of strategic long-hole challenges and spectacular panoramic views over the surrounding sea.
