Overview: Lübker Golf Resort's Sand/Sky routing combines two of the three nine-hole loops created by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in the rolling landscape of Djursland. The 18-hole combination moves between the open, gently undulating Sand loop and the longer Sky loop, where forest, water and wind become more prominent. The directory records par 72 and approximately 7,000 yards. Wide fairways and scenic views make the opening impression inviting, but the natural contours, lakes, waste areas and quick greens create a course-management test that changes whenever the two loops are paired differently.
History: The Lübker Golf Course opened in 2008 as a 27-hole championship development, with Sand, Sky and Forest each providing a separate nine-hole character. The project was designed with respect for the existing landscape and wildlife, allowing the land's hills, woodland and water to shape the routing instead of flattening the site into a uniform resort course. Lübker quickly received international recognition as a leading new course, and the resort later hosted the DP World Tour's Danish Golf Championship in 2024. The exact directory row is the 18-hole Sand/Sky combination, not the full 27-hole facility.
Did You Know? Lübker has three nine-hole loops, so an 18-hole round can change its personality depending on which two are paired. Sand offers open views and broad fairways, Sky brings longer holes through forest and water, and Forest uses shorter holes among the residential woodland. That modular design gives the resort more strategic variety than a fixed 18-hole scorecard.
