Overview: Located in Särö, south of Gothenburg, Sweden, the Gamla (Old) Course at Kungsbacka Golfklubb is a highly scenic 18-hole woodland and parkland course. Winding through dense pine forests and open, rolling agricultural fields, the layout features wide fairways bordered by deep natural ravines, extensive water hazards, and large, subtly contoured greens. The course demands accurate ball placement off the tee to navigate the mature trees.
History: Founded in the early 1970s, the Old Course was built to establish a premier competitive venue in Halland county. The layout was carefully integrated into the existing landscape, minimizing earth movement to preserve the historic agricultural fields and providing a high-quality, accessible venue for the local community.
Did You Know? Because the course is situated near the coast of the Kattegat sea, players are often subjected to shifting coastal winds that drastically alter the playing strategy and club selection on the exposed, elevated holes.
