Overview: Krugersdorp Golf Club is an 18-hole par 72 parkland course on Johannesburg’s West Rand, in the Rant-En-Dal area. The official club figure is about 6,426 metres from the club tees. Mature trees, open grass and four par fives give the round a conventional full-course rhythm, while water and the surrounding road infrastructure add particular strategic details to selected holes. The result is a substantial local course with a clear West Rand identity.
History: The club traces its formation to 1900, while the current 18-hole course is associated with Robert Grimsdell’s work in 1938. William Kerr later rerouted parts of the course and added a par three in response to the motorway. Separating those dates keeps the profile accurate: the club is older than the present 18-hole layout, and the modern course is the result of more than one design stage.
Did You Know? The 6th hole is a signature piece of the current course, a par three played over water and listed at about 185 metres. It is the kind of hole where the visual pressure is immediate, making club selection and commitment more important than the scorecard’s simple par number.
