Kroonstad Correctional Services Golf Course

Overview: Kroonstad Correctional Services Golf Course is an 18-hole course at the correctional-services college terrain in Kroonstad, Free State. Hole19 and 18Birdies both carry the same routing as a par-72 course; the 18Birdies card gives 6,730 yards and shows a balanced front and back nine. The location is useful for identifying the course correctly because Kroonstad also has a separate town country club. This profile refers specifically to the College Terrain/DCS course, not to that other facility. The available mapping and scorecard evidence confirm a full round, while access arrangements should be checked with the club or institution before a visit.

History: The course's name reflects its connection with the Department of Correctional Services training environment. A Free State provincial registration record lists the Kroonstad DCS Golf Course, giving the club a documentary presence beyond commercial golf directories. The web sources reviewed do not name a designer or provide a dependable construction date, so no architect or opening year is attached. Its documented identity is instead anchored by the college-terrain address, the registered club name and the current 18-hole scorecard.

Did You Know? The current card is a par 72 with four par threes and four par fives, leaving ten par fours across the eighteen holes. That familiar par mix gives the course a conventional full-round structure despite its unusual institutional setting.
