Overview: Kölner Golfclub's Championship Course is an 18-hole layout in Cologne's Outer Green Belt, about eight kilometres from Cologne Cathedral. Heinz Fehring shaped a gently modelled landscape of hillocks, large ponds, trees and shrubs around a design that draws on both links and parkland traditions. The official white-tee measurement is 6,018 metres, approximately 6,582 yards, and the course page lists par 72.
History: The Kölner Golfclub opened in 2012 as a modern golf project built around the idea of offering a progression from simple practice golf to a championship test. Fehring's concept extended across a 45-hole facility, including the Pitch Course and Links Course as well as the Championship Course. The club's own description presents the Championship layout as the demanding end of that progression, with multiple teeing options and varied playing routes.
Did You Know? Kölner Golfclub describes itself as the largest golf facility in North Rhine-Westphalia, with two 18-hole courses and a nine-hole short course. That means the Championship Course is one part of a 45-hole complex, rather than a standalone 18-hole club.
