Overview: Located in Kokkola, on the western coast of Finland, Kokkolan Golf is a highly scenic 18-hole woodland and parkland course. Winding through dense pine forests and open, rolling agricultural fields, the layout features tight fairways, subtle elevation changes, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course demands precise ball placement off the tee to navigate the narrow forest corridors and numerous natural streams.
History: Founded in the late 1980s, the course was built to bring high-quality competitive golf to the Central Ostrobothnia region. The layout was carefully integrated into the existing landscape, minimizing earth movement to preserve the historic agricultural fields and providing a high-quality, accessible venue for the local community.
Did You Know? Because the course is situated near the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, players are often subjected to shifting coastal winds that alter the playing strategy, providing a highly variable challenge depending on the daily weather conditions.
