Overview: King Valley is an 18-hole woodland course in King City, north of Toronto, created through a collaboration between architect Doug Carrick and two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange. The current profile is par 72 and 6,905 yards. Hardwood forests, tall pines, valleys and ravines give the course a large natural canvas, but the strategic demands are close at hand: tee shots need to be shaped into tree-lined fairways and approaches must find greens protected by the landform and surrounding hazards.
History: King Valley was one of ClubLink's founding courses and emerged as a major Toronto-area design in the early 1990s. ClubLink records that it finished runner-up in Golf Digest's 1991 Best New Courses in Canada list, while Mike Weir won the 1993 Canadian Tour Players Championship there. The course has remained the flagship around which ClubLink's corporate presence in the King region is organised, preserving its role as both a destination and a serious championship layout.
Did You Know? The course's ninth and 18th holes are visible from the clubhouse, creating a paired view of the two finishing stretches before the round even begins. That visual relationship is a fitting expression of the course's design: forested and secluded across most of the property, but opening into a broad final statement at the clubhouse.
