Overview: King's Walk Golf Course is a public Arnold Palmer Signature design in Grand Forks, created as a prairie links on the Red River Valley. The site was reshaped with large mounds, deep ravines, steep ridges and two lakes, turning a flat piece of ground into a course with pronounced movement. Tall fescue, sculpted bunkers and broad fairway corridors give the layout a links-inspired appearance, while the 7,166-yard, par-72 scorecard provides a substantial test. Four tee sets let golfers choose a more suitable scale without losing the course's central character.
History: King's Walk was built after the 1997 flood destroyed Lincoln Golf Course, which had been Grand Forks' only 18-hole public course. The community's recovery created the opportunity for a new signature facility, and more than 650,000 cubic yards of earth were excavated to shape the formerly flat site. Arnold Palmer's design opened in 2002 and became part of Grand Forks' wider post-flood renewal. The course gave the city a new golfing identity while linking recreation, economic activity and community confidence.
Did You Know? The name is a nod to Arnold Palmer, the King of Golf, but the course is also a record of Grand Forks' resilience. Its mounds and ravines are not natural remnants of an old links landscape; they were deliberately created from the flat site after the flood to give the new course its rolling profile.
