Overview: Kiahuna Golf Club is a Kauaʻi course in the Poʻipū landscape, where tropical vegetation, former agricultural ground and coastal wind shape the round. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed an 18-hole par-70 layout that uses rolling ground, ravines and broad views rather than a single flat corridor. The course’s character comes from the relationship between golf holes and the older landscape around them.
History: Kiahuna opened in 1984 and is credited to Robert Trent Jones Jr. The operator describes the property as part of a region with ancient Hawaiian village sites and agricultural walls, and later course work has been undertaken with attention to those surviving features.
Did You Know? The course contains remnants associated with an ancient Hawaiian village, including two heiau and agricultural walls. A former Portuguese irrigation house and crypt are also recorded in the wider property history, making the golf landscape unusually layered.
