Overview: Kharghar Valley Golf Course is a newly reopened 18-hole layout in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, in the Mumbai metropolitan corridor. Current project and scorecard records list par 72 and 7,137 yards, while the redevelopment report describes a course shaped by ridges, valleys, rocky outcrops and undulating greens. The setting is markedly different from a flat urban parkland course: the natural valley provides changing lies and elevation, and the layout uses streams, ponds and drainage channels as strategic features. Kharghar is consequently one of the most relevant newer golf stops for players exploring the expanding Navi Mumbai region.
History: Kharghar Valley began as a nine-hole public facility. CIDCO made additional land available for the expansion, and Golf Design India led the project after Vijit Nandrajog was selected in 2021. The work did more than add another nine: restrictions on part of the site required the existing holes to be completely rerouted, producing what the design report calls an almost entirely new course. The 18-hole layout reopened in 2026, giving the former local facility a new place in the Mumbai area's golf-travel landscape.
Did You Know? One of the course's most unusual holes came directly from its geology. A large rock area could not be excavated, so the design team shaped a 290-yard driveable par-four around the hillside and left players several ways to attack it. Water is also part of the design logic: natural channels cross the site, and the report says streams influence play on nine holes, including the par-five 14th and par-four 15th.
