Overview: Located in Savonlinna, Finland, Kerigolf is a highly scenic 18-hole woodland course designed by Ronald Fream. Carved through dense, massive pine and spruce forests, the layout features extreme elevation changes, tight, heavily restricted fairways, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course is a severe physical test, requiring players to execute precise shots over deep, rocky ravines to find the secluded greens.
History: Opened in the late 1980s, the course was built to establish a premier, high-end championship venue in the Finnish Lake District. Fream utilized the dramatic, naturally severe topography of the historic woodland estate to create a highly strategic, visual masterpiece that is widely regarded as one of the finest courses in the region.
Did You Know? Because the course is built deep within the rugged Finnish Lake District, players are frequently surrounded by massive, ancient rock outcroppings left behind by retreating glaciers, providing an incredibly raw and dramatic architectural backdrop.
