Overview: Kaziranga Golf Resort places an 18-hole golf course inside Assam's tea-country landscape near the Sangsua and Gatoonga estates. The current resort describes a property built around golf, colonial-style cottages and nature travel, while course records identify a par-71 layout measuring 6,850 yards from the black tees. Ranjit Nanda is credited as the designer. For visitors, the appeal is the combination of a full course and a wider Assam itinerary: the resort sits within tea-estate scenery and is positioned for trips toward Kaziranga National Park and other regional attractions.
History: The course was developed as part of Hemendra Prasad Barooah's effort to combine tea tourism with a heritage resort experience. Contemporary reporting places the resort/course opening in 2011 and describes an 18-hole, par-71 layout spread across roughly 150 acres of tea-estate land. The project was unusual in Assam, where many historic plantation courses are nine-hole layouts; Kaziranga was created as a larger designer course that could anchor a destination stay. The current operator continues to present the golf course alongside the resort's heritage bungalow, accommodation and nature-focused hospitality.
Did You Know? The clubhouse setting is part of the story: the resort surrounds the heritage “Burra Sahib's Bungalow,” a tea-estate building used in the property's hospitality identity. A round here can therefore be paired with tea-garden scenery and wildlife travel, rather than treated as an isolated golf stop in an urban circuit.
