Overview: The West Course at Kasumigaseki Country Club is a classic woodland layout in Saitama Prefecture. Serving as the counterpart to the famous East Course, it is routed through the same mature pine forest but features a more rolling topography. The design relies on narrow corridors, strategic bunkering, and subtle greens to challenge players.
History: Opened in 1932, the West Course was designed by Seiichi Inoue, who sought to create a layout that complemented the adjacent East Course. In 2016, the course was renovated alongside the East Course by Tom and Logan Fazio, who updated the green complexes and modernized the strategic hazards.
Did You Know? Unlike the East Course, which has hosted major international events like the Olympics, the West Course is preferred by many golfers for its quieter, more intimate feel and its classic Inoue routing that winds through the Musashino forest.
