Overview: Kasugai Country Club's West Course is the more traditional half of the club's 36-hole property, shaped by Seiichi Inoue through rolling ground and mature vegetation. This profile follows the G-green routing, whose current official back-tee total is 6,926 yards at par 72. The course has a varied rhythm: some fairways open out before climbing into the approach, while others bring ponds, cross bunkers or out-of-bounds close enough to make position matter. The club describes the West as a course with an active sense of rise and fall, and the hole guide shows how that movement continues right up to the putting surfaces.
History: The club opened in 1964 and the West Course remains the Inoue-designed foundation of the property. Unlike the recently rebuilt East Course, its present identity is carried by the original hill routing and the demanding green surrounds, including sloping approaches and greens where putting accuracy is part of the design challenge. The official scorecard keeps both L and G green totals in view, which is why the directory's West G suffix is preserved rather than silently treated as an interchangeable second course.
Did You Know? Kasugai's West Course has hosted several major Japanese championships, including the 1969 Japan Professional, the 1975 Japan Open, the 1980 Japan Women's Open and the 2000 Japan Senior Open. The hole guide also shows how the course's two green configurations alter individual decisions: the 8th, for example, is a long par three whose G-green back measurement reaches 240 yards.
