Overview: Kasugai Country Club's East Course is the newer expression of a long-established hill property north of Nagoya. The current official guide lists 18 holes, par 72 and 7,050 yards from the black tees. Its broad fairways use the natural rises and valleys of the site, while ponds linking the ridges and low ground create the main strategic questions. The club describes the routing as a balance of risk and reward, and the scorecard supports that reading: long par fours and several substantial par fives make a confident tee shot useful, but the better line is often the one that leaves a clean angle into the green.
History: Kasugai Country Club opened on 23 October 1964 as a Seiichi Inoue design. The East Course was comprehensively renovated from December 2023 and reopened for the club's 60th anniversary in October 2024, with David Dale and GolfPlan responsible for the modern work. The project kept the course's original identity in view while updating strategy, conditioning and sustainability. That makes the East routing a useful meeting point between Inoue's mid-century landform and a contemporary approach to water, turf and playability.
Did You Know? The black-tee scorecard gives the East Course a 7,050-yard total, but the official ratings show how quickly it changes with the tee: the blue set is 6,633 yards and the white set 6,100. The contrast is not merely cosmetic. It changes the carry decisions on the longer holes and lets the same renovated routing ask a very different question of a tournament player and a regular club golfer.
