Overview: The Blue Course is one of the two 18-hole routings in Karuizawa 72 West. Prince describes West as the casual, open member of the resort group, with GPS-cart play and fairways spread across natural highland undulation. The current brochure lists the Blue Course at par 72 and 6,725 yards from the back tees, making it a substantial round even within the more relaxed West setting.
History: West Blue and West Gold share a 36-hole facility, but they are separate physical routings with different par distributions and yardage. The current Prince pages do not state an architect or opening year for the exact Blue routing, so those fields remain blank. The profile therefore relies on the operator’s current layout rather than assigning an unverified designer.
Did You Know? Blue is not simply the shorter half of West. The published card gives the outward nine par 36 and the inward nine par 36, while Gold uses a par-38 outward nine and par-34 inward nine. The two routings therefore create distinct scoring rhythms despite sharing the same resort landscape.
