Karuizawa 72 Golf (East Oshitate)

Overview: Oshitate is the companion 18-hole routing to Iriyama in Karuizawa 72 Golf’s East group. Prince’s current layout gives it par 72 and 6,838 yards from the back tees. The course is set in the cool Karuizawa highlands, where broad corridors, mature edges and gentle changes of level create a resort round with enough positional decisions to keep the holes distinct.

History: Official championship material associates the East facility with Robert Trent Jones Jr., while Prince’s current page presents Oshitate as one half of the 36-hole East complex. A routing-specific opening year was not stated consistently in the current sources, so the date remains blank. The directory label is preserved as a physical course identity, not reduced to the general Karuizawa 72 resort name.

Did You Know? Oshitate is 103 yards shorter than Iriyama from the published back tees, but the two courses still share par 72. That small difference is a reminder that Karuizawa 72 is a family of related routings, not one generic scorecard repeated across the resort.
