Karuizawa 72 Golf (East Iriyama)

Overview: The Iriyama Course is one of the two 18-hole routings in Karuizawa 72 Golf’s East group. The current Prince layout lists par 72 and 6,941 yards from the back tees. It plays through the highland landscape of southern Karuizawa, with open fairways, tree lines and the cool seasonal setting that has made the resort one of Japan’s best-known golf destinations.

History: Karuizawa 72 East is associated with Robert Trent Jones Jr. in official championship and golf-history material, although the current Prince course page does not state a single opening date for the Iriyama routing. The profile therefore records the supported design credit but leaves the year blank. Iriyama and Oshitate are separate 18-hole routings within the same East facility.

Did You Know? Karuizawa 72 East hosted the 2014 World Amateur Team Championships. That event put the highland resort course in an international team-golf spotlight, while the daily layout still depends on the quieter work of choosing the right side of fairways and greens.
