Overview: Kärntner Golfclub Dellach is an 18-hole historic woodland beside Lake Wörthersee. Designed by C. Noskowski, Lake views, mature woodland, and gently undulating ground give Dellach a quiet strategic character rather than a steep Alpine one.Dellach’s historic routing is par 71 and about 6,130 yards, a measured length where placement and trajectory matter. The lakeside setting is most effective when it is subtle: mature trees and gentle rises frame the course, while the water gives the wider landscape its sense of place.
History: The club was founded in 1927 and began with a nine-hole course. Historical material records the current 18-hole expansion as completed in 1954, so that date is used for the ranked routing rather than the club’s founding year. Dellach’s 1954 date avoids confusing the club’s founding with the current full routing. The older nine-hole beginning remains part of the course’s character, especially in the mature landscape.
Did You Know? Dellach is one of Austria’s oldest golf settings. Its present 18-hole identity grew from a nine-hole beginning beside Lake Wörthersee. Dellach’s current full course grew from a nine-hole beginning, which is why the club’s founding date and 18-hole opening date differ.
