Overview: Kapolei Golf Course is a 7,001-yard Ted Robinson Sr. design on Oahu’s former sugar-cane plain. The 18-hole par-72 routing uses wide landing areas, elevated greens, bunkers and water features, with the Waianae Mountains visible beyond the leeward landscape. Its holes are shaped as much by position around hazards as by the distance on the scorecard.
History: The course opened in 1992 on about 190 acres of former sugar land. The operator documents its later tournament history, including LPGA and PGA Champions Tour events, while the original Robinson design remains visible in the water work and broad fairway structure.
Did You Know? Kapolei’s modern golf landscape grew out of the former sugar industry. The open plain and irrigation features are therefore part of a broader agricultural history, not simply a resort setting chosen for scenery.
