Overview: Kaluhyat is the Robert Trent Jones Jr. course at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York. The par-72 layout uses dramatic elevation changes, wetlands, forest, forced carries, and large strategic features to create a demanding modern resort test. From the back tees it reaches about 7,100 yards, but accuracy is the defining requirement.
History: Kaluhyat opened in 2003 as one of Turning Stone’s three 18-hole courses. Jones Jr. designed the course for the Oneida Nation’s resort property, using the site’s rolling ground and water corridors to give the layout a distinct identity within the Turning Stone portfolio.
Did You Know? Kaluhyat is an Oneida word translated by the resort as “the other side of the sky.” The name is tied to Oneida creation tradition, and the course uses elevated plateaus and views to make that idea part of the playing landscape.
