Overview: Kahkwa Club in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a historic private parkland course designed by the legendary architect Donald Ross. Located near the shores of Lake Erie, the course features rolling fairways, mature tree lines, and Ross's signature undulating green complexes.
History: Opened in 1917, Kahkwa was designed by Donald Ross during the Golden Age of golf architecture. The course hosted the 1971 U.S. Girls' Junior and the 2004 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur championships. A major restoration project in 2016 updated the greens and rebuilt the sand bunkers to match Ross's original designs.
Did You Know? Winding along the banks of Mill Creek, the course is named after the historic Kahkwa Native American tribe that originally inhabited the southern shores of Lake Erie.
