Overview: Jupiter Island Club is a private 18-hole coastal course on the barrier island at Hobe Sound, with the Indian River to the west and the Atlantic to the east. The current blue-tee record lists par 72 and 6,103 yards. River views, sandy island ground, ornamental planting and water hazards create a narrow, atmospheric layout whose back nine is especially connected to the shoreline landscape.
History: Golf has been part of Jupiter Island's story since the 1890s, when Scottish pineapple growers played on the sand islands. The Town of Jupiter Island records a modern nine-hole course built in 1922 and a second nine was in place by 1957, while current course records use 1958 for the 18-hole opening. William H. Diddel is credited with the course, and Jan Bel Jan led a later renovation that addressed strategy, drainage, turf and native landscaping.
Did You Know? The Indian River is visible from almost half of Jupiter Island Club's holes. Several back-tee carries cross river inlets, so the water is not merely a backdrop but a defining part of the course's visual and strategic identity.
