Overview: Designed by Greg Norman as the more technical and strategic counterpart to the neighboring Earth course, the Fire Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates is an authentic desert-style challenge. While the Earth course features a lush parkland feel, the Fire course celebrates the natural topography and raw, sandy environment of Dubai. The layout is defined by its strategic use of bunkers, terracotta-colored waste areas, and undulating terrain, providing a more versatile and technical round that rewards creative shot-making and careful course management.
History: The development of Jumeirah Golf Estates was a major expansion of Dubai's luxury real estate and sporting infrastructure, and the Fire Course was designed to be its central crown jewel. Norman and his team spent years meticulously shaping the terrain to preserve the natural desert topography while creating a layout that felt both grand and sustainable. Since its opening, it has quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional maintenance and its role as a premier sanctuary of modern desert golf, offering a refined and high-quality resort experience within a peaceful desert setting.
Did You Know? The Fire course was specifically designed to be played "on the ground" as much as in the air, allowing for links-style bump-and-run approach shots that are rarely seen on other modern Middle Eastern courses. Despite playing second fiddle to the Earth course in terms of hosting the season finale, many local golf purists consider the Fire course the more nuanced and intellectually rewarding test of golf at the resort.
