Overview: Julington Creek Golf Club is a public 18-hole parkland course in St. Johns County serving the Jacksonville area. The current club course page lists par 72 and up to 6,860 yards, with fairways, wetlands, lakes and mature trees shaping a layout that rewards accurate driving and deliberate approach play. Its present playing surfaces include TifEagle Bermuda greens following a major 2022 renovation.
History: Julington Creek grew from a late-1980s nine-hole course into its current 18-hole form in the early 1990s. Robert C. Walker is associated with the original nine, while Steve Melnyk designed the later nine; course records use 1992 for the completed layout. In summer 2022 the club rebuilt its bunkers, leveled and resodded the tees, and reconstructed the greens with TifEagle Bermuda.
Did You Know? Julington Creek's design story spans two architects and two phases of construction. The front nine's Walker origin and Melnyk's later work give the course a useful change of rhythm as the round moves from its older opening sequence to the completed 18-hole routing.
