Overview: The Quarry/Dune combination at Joondalup Country Club joins two of the property’s three nine-hole loops into an 18-hole par-72 round. Robert Trent Jones Jr. routed the course through bushland, dunes and a worked limestone quarry, with sharp bunkering and tiered greens defining the playing character.
History: Joondalup was developed as a 27-hole facility in Perth’s northern suburbs, with the three loops known as Lake, Dune and Quarry. The present course is generally dated to the mid-1980s, while the club continues to maintain the three-loop structure that allows different 18-hole combinations.
Did You Know? The Quarry nine uses a disused limestone quarry as part of its terrain, making the Quarry/Dune round one of the clearest examples of dramatic land reuse in Australian golf.
