Jonathan's Landing at Old Trail (Match)

Overview: Jonathan's Landing at Old Trail Match is a private 18-hole Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner design in Jupiter. The current club scorecard shows a par-70 layout of 6,500 yards from the Plates, with a routing built around creative shot-making, varied tee positions and the natural setting of Old Trail. It is deliberately different from a conventional South Florida course, asking players to choose lines and angles rather than simply repeat the same strategy.

History: The Match opened in 2021 as part of Jonathan's Landing's Old Trail property. Hanse Golf Course Design lists the Jupiter project as opening in 2021, while the club credits Hanse and Wagner with building the course and its practice facility. The Match was later recognized by Golf Digest on its 2023 Best Transformation list, reflecting the course's distinctive response to its setting and its emphasis on alternate ways to play a hole.

Did You Know? The Match uses unusual tee-box locations to change the angles and decisions from round to round. That feature is central to its match-play identity, giving the same hole different strategic questions without changing the routing.
