Overview: The West Course at John’s Island Club is a private Tom Fazio design in Vero Beach, Florida, laid across a natural sand ridge with more movement than its coastal location might suggest. Split fairways, changing elevation and layered greens give the course a strategic character that is distinct from flat-water Florida golf.
History: Fazio created the West Course in the late 1980s, with the eighteen-hole layout opening in 1988. The course occupies roughly 300 acres and has remained one of the central golf offerings at the John’s Island community.
Did You Know? The course includes several drivable par fours and tri-level putting surfaces. Its routing also uses the sand ridge to create repeated uphill and downhill shots, a feature highlighted in the club’s championship history.
