Overview: Jakarta Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland course in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, occupying about 36 hectares close to the city centre. Mature trees tighten the fairways, while bunkers and water hazards reward placement over simply hitting the longest club. Current course information gives approximately 5,875 yards from the black tees. The club's official history names A. Gray and T.C. Wilson as pioneers of the original Batavia Golf Club, but does not establish a reliable architect for the present routing, so no architect is displayed here. Guests generally play under a member-accompanied arrangement.
History: The club traces its origin to 1872, when Batavia Golf Club was established in the Gambir area of present-day Central Jakarta. The course moved to Rawamangun in 1934 and adopted the Jakarta Golf Club name in 1950. This profile uses 1934 for the current Rawamangun routing, while the older 1872 foundation remains part of the club's history. The Rawamangun golf landscape was also listed as a provincial cultural-heritage structure in 2020, reinforcing its importance beyond sport.
Did You Know? The second hole is a par four and the club's current course guide describes a tee shot that must carry a large pond, with a highway on one side and running water along the other. The fifth is another precise water-and-bunker test around a narrow green. On a compact urban site, those holes show why Jakarta Golf Club's challenge comes from angles and restraint rather than sheer length.
