Overview: Jagorawi Golf & Country Club's Old Course is an 18-hole, par-72 woodland layout in the Cikeas River Valley of West Java. Peter Thomson, Michael Wolveridge and Ronald Fream shaped the course through a former jungle setting, steep valley sides and the river corridor, creating a round in which accuracy, club selection and control of uneven lies matter more than distance alone. The official course page lists 6,023 metres, approximately 6,588 yards, and describes the first three holes as descending about 200 metres into the valley. The Old Course is the historic 18-hole anchor of Jagorawi's 45-hole club, but its identity remains separate from the New Course and the nine-hole Z-Nine.
History: Design and construction began in the mid-1970s, with Thomson working alongside Wolveridge and Fream on what was first known as the Garden Course. The first nine holes entered play in 1979, and all 18 holes were completed in 1981. That phased development established Jagorawi as one of Indonesia's pioneering new-era golf clubs and set the pattern for the larger facility that followed. The later New Course joined the club in 1991, and Z-Nine followed in 1997, but the Old Course remains the original layout and the course most closely associated with the club's early history. The official site also records the wider club's position in the Cikeas valley and its continuing three-course structure.
Did You Know? Jagorawi's name comes from the Jakarta–Bogor–Ciawi corridor, the route that connects the club with the region it serves. The facility now totals 45 holes: the Old Course and New Course each have 18, while Z-Nine adds nine more. From the Old Course, the river valley is not just a distant view; the opening descent makes the surrounding terrain part of the round from its first holes.
