Overview: The New Course at Jagorawi Golf & Country Club takes the Cikeas River valley as its setting for an 18-hole, par-72 woodland round in Gunung Putri, Bogor Regency, West Java. It is one routing in a 45-hole complex that also includes the Old Course and nine-hole Z-Nine, so this record intentionally covers only the New layout. Current club and golf-travel material credit Thomson & Wolveridge, with Ronald Fream associated with the broader early design team, and date the New Course to 1991. It measures about 6,322 metres from the back tees, approximately 6,914 yards. Tropical vegetation, elevation changes, deep fairway bunkers and river-side greens shape the course.
History: Jagorawi grew from founder Zakir's plans in the 1970s, with Peter Thomson beginning the original design and construction in 1976 alongside Michael Wolveridge and Ronald Fream. Work on the Old Course ran in stages between 1979 and 1981; those dates belong to the original routing rather than the New Course. The separate New Course came in 1991, adding a second 18-hole layout with its own routing and playing character. The complex later added Z-Nine, bringing it to the present 45 holes. The New Course also hosted the Indonesian Open and the 2011 SEA Games.
Did You Know? The par-three eleventh is the signature test. From the back tees, the shot crosses a bend in the Cikeas River toward a narrow green with the river wrapping around three sides. Holes 11, 12 and 13 are described as Jagorawi's own Amen Corner, turning the middle of the round into a concentrated test of distance control and nerve. The New Course is also longer than the Old Course in the published back-tee measurements, but its wider-looking fairways can conceal tight landing areas and deep bunker faces.
