Overview: Jacksonville Golf & Country Club is a private 18-hole Clyde Johnston design in North Jacksonville, with Fuzzy Zoeller credited as player consultant. The current club course overview lists a par-72 layout reaching 6,858 yards from the black tees, moving across gently rolling ground with tree cover and freshwater lakes. Twin greens serving the ninth and eighteenth give the closing sequence a distinctive architectural signature.
History: The course broke ground in spring 1988 and hosted its inaugural round in November 1989, as the surrounding Arvida community took shape. Johnston's routing and Zoeller's playing input established the original character, which later earned local recognition and hosted Florida and U.S. Amateur qualifying events. A full redesign by Andy Staples is planned for the next phase of the club's long-term course renewal, with construction scheduled for fall 2027.
Did You Know? Jacksonville Golf & Country Club's original ninth and eighteenth share twin greens, an unusual feature that makes the two finishing approaches part of the same visual conversation. The club's history also records a 1995 national K-Mart commercial filmed at the course with Fuzzy Zoeller.
