Overview: Jack’s Point is an 18-hole championship course in Queenstown, set beneath The Remarkables on the shore of Lake Wakatipu. John Darby conceived the routing to work with the ridge, tussock and mountain contours, producing a par-72 course that reaches about 7,150 yards from the longest published tees.
History: The course grew as part of the Jack’s Point community and is part of a wider group of projects associated with Darby’s Queenstown design practice. Its identity comes from keeping the dramatic natural setting visible and allowing the ridge and lake basin to define the holes.
Did You Know? Jack’s Point sits in the Wakatipu Basin with the Remarkables directly behind the course, so the mountain panorama is a fixed part of the routing rather than a distant backdrop.
