Overview: Izu Oshima Resort Golf Club offers a genuine island-golf setting on Izu Oshima, with ocean, open sky and views toward Mount Fuji shaping the experience. The official guide describes an 18-hole round built from a nine-hole routing, with alternate tee and green positions, par 70 and a blue-tee total of 5,373 yards.
History: Oshima's original opening was recorded in 1958. The course was designed by Nobukatsu Marumo and opened in 1958. After roughly seven decades under the Oshima Golf Club name, the operation was relaunched as Izu Oshima Resort Golf Club in August 2021. The new profile keeps the old routing at its center, while current club notices explain that simple tent facilities are being used during the clubhouse rebuilding period.
Did You Know? This is not a conventional two-loop 18-hole layout: the same nine holes are played twice, with the starting points and putting surfaces changed. That compact arrangement is part of the course's identity and makes the wind and island terrain feel different on the second pass.
