Overview: Izki Golf ~ Lagran is the nine-hole course associated with the Lagrán facility in Álava, in the wooded mountain country of the Basque region. The official regional sports-facility record identifies nine holes, par 36 and a rounded total length of 3.1 kilometres; the directory yardage is the corresponding rounded conversion to 3,390 yards. This is a compact layout where the setting does much of the visual work. Forest edges, changing slopes and the quiet scale of the Montaña Alavesa encourage a measured game, with club selection and placement more important than trying to overpower every hole. It is a distinct local course within the Izki Golf complex, suited to players who enjoy a shorter round built around terrain, trees and repeatable decisions.
History: The Basque Government facility record gives 1994 as the construction year and 2012 as the year of remodelling for the Lagrán installation. It also records the course as in use and open to the general sporting public. This nine-hole history should be kept separate from Izki’s Urturi course: the Spanish federation describes Urturi as a separate 18-hole, par 72 layout founded in 1992 and designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The attached ranking URL points to Urturi, but the directory identity, address and hole count point to Lagrán, so the profile retains the local nine-hole facts rather than importing Urturi’s architect or scorecard.
Did You Know? An earlier Basque golf guide listed the Lagrán nine at 3,176 metres from its yellow tees and par 36, showing how the compact course can still stretch beyond a quick pitch-and-putt experience. Its neighbour Urturi is the famous 18-hole routing, but the two courses share the same wider Izki landscape rather than the same scorecard.
