Overview: The Prairie Nine at Ivanhoe Club is a private nine-hole routing in Mundelein, Illinois, shaped by rolling ground, native prairie grasses and deep green-side bunkers. Arthur Hills's later course work organized the facility into three distinct nines, and the Prairie side offers a more open, links-influenced contrast to the wooded Forest and wetland Marsh nines. This profile refers to the Prairie routing only.
History: Ivanhoe broke ground on its present property in 1987 and opened its expanded club facilities and second nine in 1991. Arthur Hills led a major 2003 renovation that re-created the facility as three distinct nines named Forest, Prairie and Marsh.
Did You Know? Ivanhoe's three nines can be combined into different 18-hole cards, so a Prairie-only profile should not be treated as the whole club. The Prairie name comes from its native-grass setting and open hillocks rather than from a separate course elsewhere in Illinois.
