Overview: Island Country Club is Marco Island's only 18-hole course, a private Dave Wallace design with later input from Gene Sarazen and Kipp Schulties. The current championship reference is approximately 6,852 yards at par 72, with multiple tee positions, lakes and the island's coastal landscape influencing the strategy. A 2017 renovation refreshed all 18 holes while retaining the course's established identity.
History: Wallace designed the original course in 1966, and Gene Sarazen assisted with a 1991 redesign. To mark the club's fiftieth anniversary, Kipp Schulties oversaw an extensive renovation completed in December 2017, updating every hole, bunkers and water features. That sequence gives the course a clear architectural lineage from its first Marco Island layout to its current presentation.
Did You Know? Island Country Club is the only 18-hole golf course on Marco Island, a distinction the club uses to describe its place within the island's golf landscape. Its surrounding water and six tee combinations make the course feel larger and more varied than the compact island setting suggests.
