Overview: Located in Hestra, Sweden, the Östra (East) Course at Isaberg Golfklubb is a highly scenic 18-hole woodland course. Carved through dense pine and spruce forests, the layout features dramatic elevation changes, tight, heavily restricted fairways, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course demands precise ball placement off the tee to navigate the narrow forest corridors and numerous natural streams.
History: Opened in the 1960s, the course was built to establish a premier competitive venue in the Jönköping county. The construction required extensive routing to fit the holes through the steep, rugged Swedish terrain, creating one of the most physically demanding and visually pristine layouts in the region.
Did You Know? The course is built entirely within the Isaberg Nature Reserve. The dense, ancient woodlands ensure that the playing corridors remain completely isolated and free from any modern residential development, offering a truly pure wilderness experience.
