Overview: Designed by Laurie Waters and Robert Grimsdell, Irene Country Club is a private parkland course in Irene. Winding through old-growth woodlands, the course features narrow fairways and greens protected by the Hennops River.
History: Founded in 1912 on land provided by the Van der Byl family, the course was expanded to 18 holes by Robert Grimsdell. It underwent a major greens restoration in 2007.
Did You Know? The Hennops River flows directly through the course, coming into play as a hazard on several holes and providing a habitat for local birdlife.
