Overview: Indian Summer Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole Olympia course designed by Peter L. H. Thompson and Michael Wolveridge. The layout is built through old-growth forest with abundant water features and six sets of tees, allowing the same tournament-scale routing to be played at a range of lengths. At par 72 and 7,216 yards from the longest markers, it can provide a demanding test, but the broad tee spectrum and spacious Pacific Northwest setting give the course a flexible character. Woodland, wetland and open corridors alternate throughout the round.
History: Indian Summer opened in 1992 and was designed to tournament-calibre specifications by the Thompson and Wolveridge partnership. The course soon became a visible venue in the Olympia golf scene, including the Puget Sound Nike Open. Its current presentation continues to centre on the old-growth setting, water features and six tee sets, while the architect record preserves the partnership behind the original layout. The course remains a major golf property in Thurston County.
Did You Know? Peter Thomson was a five-time Open Championship winner before his design career became a major part of his legacy. Indian Summer therefore carries the influence of a champion who understood tournament golf from the inside, working here with Michael Wolveridge on a course built for serious competition.
