Imperial Klub Golf

Overview: At Lippo Karawaci in Tangerang, golfers play Imperial Klub Golf, an 18-hole, par-72 course within Greater Jakarta. The layout is credited to British architect Desmond Muirhead. Current course information reports 6,429 metres, while an APLGI listing gives 6,907 yards from the black tees; these figures describe different published tee references, so the profile uses the APLGI black-tee value of 6,907 yards and keeps the unit distinction visible. The layout is urban but deliberately sculpted, using undulating fairways, man-made water hazards, sharply cut bunkers and irregular greens. It is a public course with a premium-club setting and visitor booking availability.

History: Imperial opened in 1997 as part of the Lippo Karawaci development, when the new residential and business district was still being built out. Muirhead's design used earthmoving and water to turn the site into a golf landscape rather than simply placing holes on a flat estate. The course has continued as a daily operating facility serving the surrounding community, business district and visiting golfers. Current booking material still identifies the same 18-hole, par-72 routing, so its opening date is kept separate from later maintenance or promotional updates.

Did You Know? The fourth and fifth holes are highlighted in the published course description as a memorable sequence. The fourth uses an island fairway and asks for an accurate tee shot, while the fifth is a par three surrounded by water and bunkers. The front-nine and back-nine finish with long par fives alongside a lake, so water is not concentrated in just one corner of the course. Hole names in local course material also include Pulau, Krakatau, Komodo and Lotus, adding Indonesian references to Muirhead's strategic layout.
